Marjoram is a small herb very similar to oregano with a mildly savoury, grassy, slight pine flavour, similar to thyme but milder. The taste and pungency of marjoram is increased when dried and is a valuable component of many Mediterranean dishes, including pasta sauces and casseroles.
Marjoram is also known to help with laryngitis and when made into a tea sweetened with honey, it is said to help preserve the voices of professional singers!
