    Chickpea or Besan flour is a staple ingredient in Middle Eastern and Indian cuisines. Mixed with an equal proportion of water, it can be used as an egg-replacer in vegan cooking.

    A little Chickpea flour makes an excellent gluten-free binder for veggie burgers. It’s also a fun and nutritious addition to breads and baked goods. Instead of using flour or another starch to thicken a soup, stir in a little finely ground chickpea flour, it absorbs liquid without clumping and adds a mellow, buttery taste to soup. It also makes an excellent batter to maked spiced vegetable fritters known as bhajiyas or bhajjis, a delicious alternative to chips with your main meal.
